Professional Development:
One professional goal I have for myself is to receive a special education endorsement. I believe it’s important for all classroom teachers to receive training and have proficiency in the special education field. Adding a special education endorsement to my current education and classroom experience would allow me to gain specialized knowledge and expertise in a number of areas, including differentiated instruction, assessment, management, and advocacy. I will reach this goal by completing the necessary coursework at Castleton, after I become licensed.

Integrate Technology
Another professional goal I have is to integrate technology into the classroom. I think this is important because technology is a big part of our world. Technology can also make the classroom and lessons more interesting, interactive, and engaging. I will integrate technology into the classroom by using a Smartboard (if available in my school). If there isn’t a Smartboard, a laptop connected to a projector works well. It would also be great if each student had access to a Chromebook. They could use the Chromebook to use Epic, Zearn, and other educational programs.

Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle:
One goal I am setting for myself is to maintain a healthy lifestyle.This is important to me because I want to live a long, fruitful life. I will reach my goal in part by eliminating sugars from my diet. Overall I eat a balanced, healthy diet, aside from some goodies sometimes. Another way I will reach my goal is to become more active throughout the week. I have a home workout streaming subscription where I have access to 100’s of different workouts. I will complete 3-4 workouts a week.

Money Management:
Another goal I have for myself is to get out of debt and learn how to manage my money better. This is an important goal for myself because there are financial milestones I want to reach, as an adult with a profession. I am going to own my own home and be financially secure so I need to learn to manage and save money. Managing my money and living out of debt will mean less stressors in life. When I begin my career I will have a steady income. Having a steady income will make it easier to manage my money. I will reach my goal by creating a budget. My budget will include the regular monthly bills, which include student loans and credit card payoffs. My budget will also include money for entertainment, and saving deposits.
